The cinema at Bernie’s strives to provide good entertainment alongside its eclectic menu. The refreshment selection for the theatre is designed to require minimal cutlery, and therefore to produce minimal noise. It’s not a library, we won’t be shushing you, but people are here to watch a movie, so we’ll do what we can to not interrupt that part of the experience.

While everything on Bernie’s Cinema Menu can (and should) be enjoyed in the theatre, the tables are on the small side, so we recommend spacing out your order(s) to maximize space for candy and martinis.

We encourage cell phones to be on silent and not used during the film, and conversations to be put on pause.

Yes! Bernie’s staff will be attentive to your needs from the moment you walk through our doors until, sadly, you leave us. This includes full service available throughout the film, if you want it. Find your favourites on our Cinema Menu.

Bernie’s Cinema Menu doubles as an order form. Find the items you’d like, mark the quantity desired, and leave your light on. The light will be the signal to our staff that you’re in need of service. They’ll turn it off once they’ve attended to you. If at any time during the movie you’d like to order more/something else, turn your light back on and we’ll be right over! Don’t worry, you don’t have to memorize this process. It’s a pretty user-friendly, analog system, and we’re there to guide you!

Unfortunately, movie tickets are non-refundable at Bernie’s Cinema. If something happens that prevents the film from being shown, we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected]

Movie tickets at Bernie’s vary in price on Toonie Tuesday’s they’re 11.50 and every other day of the week they are 15.50

Bernie’s is a licensed cinema and we do have to pay for these movies. But we have the latest and greatest in projection technology (best in the city), a state-of-the-art sound system, comfortable and stylish seating, and of course, access to Bernie’s Supper Club & Cinema’s sought-after food & drink menu (plus concession faves) that we think will make your experience well worth the cost of your ticket!

We strongly recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to showtime. This allows you enough time to get settled into your seat, order something to eat and/or drink, and take in the Bernie’s Cinema experience to the fullest!

Street parking is available throughout downtown, and there are a number of parkades nearby as well. Chapman Parkade is located one block away, Memorial Parkade is about 400m away, plus there are a few Impark lots in the vicinity – all within a short walking distance of Bernie’s. Most of these options do require payment, though many of them are free after a certain time. Please refer to posted signage for direction.

Because of our unique seating options, we assign seats to our guests to maximize not only the number of people able to see a movie, but also the viewers’ comfort. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please get in touch to let us know. Shows that are not sold out may operate on a first come, first served basis, and allow guests to choose their preferred spot at Bernie’s Cinema.

Our liquor license allows us to welcome those under 19 until 10pm, however movie ratings-based restrictions apply.

This is a mandatory fee imposed by the booking service we are required to use in order to properly report our ticket sales to the applicable governing body. It is unfortunately not refundable.

While the space itself is suitable for the those using a chair, unfortunately we do not currently have a way to reach the top floor (where the cinema is located) without stairs. We’re working toward being able to add a stair lift to improve access to the cinema.

Not all showings are captioned, but we’re looking to host screenings of captioned movies when possible (unfortunately not all films have captioning available). If you’d like to view a captioned movie and there is a specific film you’re interested in, or a certain day of the week that you prefer, please let us know!

Dinner reservations in the Supper Club and movie tickets for Bernie’s Cinema are separate. When you purchase a movie ticket, it guarantees you a spot in the cinema. You do not need to make a separate reservation for the movie. Once you’ve got your tickets, you’re in. In the theatre, you do have access to a menu (items listed below), just not our entire “Supper Club” menu. Some folks choose to eat in the restaurant before or after the show, which you are welcome to do if you prefer, but reservations are encouraged and must be made separately. When you make a dinner reservation, this does not include tickets to the movie. Capisce?
